SOCR President Named One of Top 40 Under 40
 Sonny Maken has a lot to be proud of these days. Not only is he the owner/ broker of the Maken Group which he started 4 years ago, but at 33, he was just recently named as one of the South Florida Business Journal’s Top 2009 “40 Under 40” business leaders as well as named by Real Estate Florida as “40 Under 40” Stars of Commercial Real Estate.
As a successful real estate broker since 2001, Sonny is known for his expertise in Hospitality and Commercial brokerage and is one of only 6% of all commercial real estate practitioners in the US to hold the CCIM designation (often referred to as the PhD of Commercial Real Estate, a practitioner must not only demonstrate educational mastery but also a depth of real world commercial real estate experience and expertise).
Besides his work in Florida he has closed large transactions in Ohio, Mississippi, Indiana, Texas and Tennessee. His most recent closing was a $14 Million transaction which was a South Florida Business Journal Deal of the Week.
A graduate of Georgetown University in Washington DC with a degree in International Economics and a concentration in International Finance and Commerce, Sonny has also been featured in the 2007, 2008 edition of Marquis Who’s Who in America & 2008 edition of Marquis Who's Who in the World.
As President of the Society of Commercial Realtors® of Greater Fort Lauderdale, Inc., Sonny also serves as a RAGFL and FAR Director.
