Residential real estate practitioners who know little or nothing about commercial real estate, but who want to learn more about it. This course should provide the information they need to help them decide whether they want to seek additional, advanced education in order to pursue a career in commercial real estate.
General Course Objectives:
- Describe the basic components and players involved in a commercial real estate transaction including the responsibilities of the broker, lender, client, and attorney
- Define the differences between residential transactions and commercial transactions including representation, compensation, negotiation, and transaction timeline

- Examine standard commercial contract and lease clauses
- Review a basic commercial property marketing plan and economic market analysis
- Promote NAR’s commercial affiliates, where appropriate
